Wyland’s Lemon Vodka from makers of Blue Shark, to launch for summer, support ocean conservation

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC, April 23, 2025 — The makers of Blue Shark Vodka will release a naturally flavored vodka for the summer season — their second flavored vodka venture.

In 2024, Blue Shark Vodka and Wyland teamed up to create a new label under the Daytoon Distilling Inc. umbrella: Equalise LLC., to feature four flavored vodkas available seasonally. The first iteration (Wyland’s Vanilla Vodka) launched in December.

Like the vanilla vodka, Wyland’s Lemon Vodka features original artwork on the label from the artist – this time a stunning rendering of a lemon shark done on canvas with oil. The vodka’s flavor is all-natural, with no dyes or preservatives. Flavor in the lemon vodka is derived from Sicilian lemons, distilled into Blue Shark Vodka in a micro-infusion process.

Wyland’s Lemon Vodka will launch across North and South Carolina on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Wyland has plans for five consecutive years of labels, each featuring a new species to highlight. Proceeds will go to The Wyland Foundation, which works to promote ocean conservation. Look for announcements on additional flavored vodkas in the future, with vanilla vodka returning each holiday season and lemon vodka appearing for a limited time each May.

THE STORY BEHIND WYLAND & BLUE SHARK VODKA’S PARTNERSHIP

The Bloomquist family behind Blue Shark Vodka and their parent company, Daytoon Distributors, has a lifelong affinity for ocean conservation and art. At the time of the vodka’s launch in 2019, founder Mark Bloomquist was searching for artists who could partner with the company with the shared goals of conservation and supporting fine art as well.

Mark and Wyland were introduced and an immediate friendship and natural brand partnership began. Wyland is a world-renowned artist, sculptor and painter known for the landmark Whaling Wall murals series and his conservation programs.

In 2020 Wyland created a limited-edition label for Blue Shark Vodka with proceeds going to his foundation. The bottle sold out in  four weeks and received coveted design medals from the SIP Awards.
