This Wrightsville Beach favorite is best known for its gourmet burgers, a wide selection of local and regional craft beers, fish tacos, and more. The original location in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina was named after the poet who was stationed there in 1827, but the restaurant has since expanded to Florida and Wrightsville Beach in 2015. If you’re looking for charm and good eats, Poe’s Tavern is the place for you.

Fun Fact: While Edgar Allan Poe was stationed at Sullivan’s Island, he wrote the short story “The Gold Bug,” as such, each Poe’s Tavern location has a gold bug in the front entrance!
