Sunday night the Blue Shark Vodka team had the opportunity to celebrate Wyland, one of the most impactful marine life artists of our time.
Many Blue Shark Vodka drinkers will recognize Wyland’s signature style from the Blue Shark Wyland Special Edition bottle he created, which won a 2021 Double Gold SIP Award. Proceeds from that bottle contributed to The Wyland Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving the world’s oceans, waterways and marine life.
At the annual Wyland Foundation Gala in Laguna Beach, CA, Sunday, Wyland received a surprise from the Blue Shark Vodka team, as well as the SIP Awards. SIP Awards founder Paul Hashemi and Blue Shark Vodka founder Mark Bloomquist presented Wyland with his SIP Award trophy in person.
“It was an honor to celebrate Wyland and all he has done with The Wyland Foundation over the last 28 years for education on the importance of marine life,” said Bloomquist. “We are proud partners of The Wyland Foundation as our hopes for the world’s oceans are aligned. We all want to make sure young generations are inspired to be good stewards of the ocean and treasure it.”
The annual gala includes a silent auction, live music, a chance to learn more about The Wyland Foundation’s many programs and more.
World famous artist Wyland was inspired early in his career to educate the broader public on the importance of preserving the oceans and wildlife. His foundation inspires people everywhere to discover the importance of healthy oceans through public art programs, classroom science education and live events. His programs like the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge, Clean Water Mobile Learning Experience, National Art Challenge and countless community events are leading the way to inspire millions of people to become more solution-oriented stewards of marine resources.
