Blue Shark Vodka is proud to announce its selection for 2024’s artist-inspired label: Columbia, South Carolina native painter and sculpture artist – Blue Sky. In his early years, Sky studied under Ash Can painter Edmund Yaghjian and was judged “best of show” among 700 other artists in 1964. And in 2000, Sky was awarded the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian state honor, for his contributions to the arts—particularly, for painting the state’s first large-scale public mural in 1975. Best known for his larger-than-life installations, Sky’s numerous murals are concentrated throughout South Carolina with other installations in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Michigan.

The Be Colorful bottle was a limited edition release by Blue Shark Vodka, which featured their signature underwater artwork of a Blue Shark and a Pride flag with the message, “Love” imposed inside. The colorful coral reef at the bottom of the seascape was an eye-catching addition.

Blue Shark Vodka is proud to introduce scientific illustration and conservation artist Rachel Brooks as our featured 2024 limited edition label artist. Hailing from the United Kingdom, Brooks currently resides in the Scottish Highlands and combines a degree in zoology, countless dives, and her love for both art and marine life into what she terms ‘artivism,’ combining the terms ‘art’ with ‘activism’. While using art as an essential communication tool to reconnect us to the natural world, she joyfully tells the ocean’s story through her beautiful blend of simple, yet modern marine life drawings and illustrates the connectivity of our natural world – both within itself and within ourselves. Highlighting the weird, the wonderful, and all life in between, it is her hope to connect each and every one of us to the sea and the incredible ecosystem beneath the waves.

Blue Shark Vodka released this limited-edition bottle in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States. The back label artwork, created by in-house artist Elfie Siebenpfeiffer, combines Blue Shark Vodka’s commitment to ocean conservation with symbols of American heritage. Within the underwater scene, the White House and Mount Rushmore appear as coral formations within a vibrant reef ecosystem. Hidden throughout the artwork are 25 marine species, celebrating the diversity and beauty of ocean life while reflecting the patriotic spirit of this commemorative release. As part of the bottle’s launch, Blue Shark Vodka hosted the “Stars, Stripes & Sea Life Sweepstakes,” inviting participants to identify all 25 marine species concealed within the artwork for a chance to win prizes. The interactive challenge highlighted both the creativity of the design and the importance of marine education and conservation. Created as a tribute to both the nation’s milestone anniversary and the marine environments Blue Shark Vodka works to protect, the Semiquincentennial Edition represents the intersection of conservation, artistry, and American pride.
